Janine started her journey in San Diego, while dealing with hormone dysregulation after childbirth, acupuncture and herbal medicine proved to be the solution. This fueled her desire to know what and how this medicine works. She earned an AS in biology and transferred to Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, now Pacific College of Health and Science, where she earned a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine and a certificate in Asian Body Therapy. Since graduating in 2009, she has lived in Southern Oregon, where her practice has centered on acute and chronic pain management, but over the years, she has developed a love for working with pregnant women and for cosmetic and facial acupuncture.
Janine’s practice philosophy is to listen, with her ears, hands, and heart. She has found that those who feel heard respond to treatment better than they expect. Janine also focuses on teaching her patients that the foundation of feeling well starts with nourishment, rest, and stress management. Wellness starts from the inside.
New to the Portland area, she lives with her husband, Rock, in Southeast Portland. Together, they enjoy cycling, bikepacking, camping, traveling, and spending time with their son.
