Hatha

Yoga with Props

60-minute Class                                        Monthly Unlimited  $200  Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all forms of yoga.  The Sanskrit word Hatha (Ha-Ta) means "force", thus this form concentrates on the inner experience of each asana (pose), to steady the body and mind.  These classes will teach basic yoga postures, with a focus on breath and alignment and will incorporate the use of props to increase mobility.  Modifications as well as advanced stages of the poses will be introduced. 

 

The studio is heated to between 75° and 85° F.  Suitable to all levels.  Package sessions do not expire.

Slow Flow

An introduction for beginning Vinyasa Flow students to learn to link asana (pose/movement) and pranayama (breath) together with easy transitions.  These classes will teach basic yoga postures and flows with a focus on breath, alignment and transitions.  The use of modifications and props will be incorporated to increase mobility. 

 

The studio is heated to between 75° and 85° F.  No experience or flexibility required.  Vinyasa beginners start here.  Package sessions do not expire.

Vinyasa

The Sanskrit word Vinyasa (Vin-yah-sah) roughly translates as "to place in a special way" referring to a sequence of poses.  Moderately paced flow, with modifications offered for those that want more than the Slow Flow and still providing opportunities for students to begin working towards harder poses.

The studio is heated to between 80° and 90° F.  This class is suitable to the Level 1 - Level 2 students.  Package sessions do not expire.

Yin Yoga

This class targets the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps to slow down and regulate the entire nervous system.  The instructor utilizes poses to reduce fatigue, improve range of motion and more mobile muscle fascia.  This class is slow, with many resting poses done on the floor utilizing bolsters, blankets and blocks to prop students into passive poses.  A good restorative class is more rejuvenating than a nap!

The studio is heated to between 75° and 85° F.  Suitable to all levels.  Package sessions do not expire.

It can be difficult to advance to a higher level in a packed class or have content modified for your health needs.  With this in mind we offer private classes for a more personalized approach.  

We offer a free 30-minute consult and personalized evaluation of your individual needs and experience level.  Our expert teacher will guide you in a yoga class tailored to your specific needs and skill level.  Classes can be structured into 30-, 45-, 60-minutes (or longer) and packages are available at discounted rates.  Please inquire here (LINK).

Qigong - Immune Boosting

This moving meditation combines gentle movement, deep breathing, meditation, and aligned intention that will move stagnant Qi and strengthen weak Qi.

Along with eating properly, sleeping adequately, exercising, and managing stress, practicing this form will boost your immune system.  This form can help the immune system increase circulation around the organs, improve circulation throughout the body, and reduce stress and tension in the body.  This form can be done sitting or standing.

This class can be done without any prior instruction.  Once you learn the form, we highly recommend practicing this routine for a minimum of 30-minutes daily for at least 30 days in a row to reflect on changes you experience and to create new, healthy habits.

Qigong - Self Massage

Self-massage in Qigong focuses on the organ meridians that are the basis of East Asian medicine.  Ears, hands, and feet are areas that have reflexes to the entire body and can focus here can help maximize the natural flow and function in the body.

Self massage can include:  tapping, lightly slapping, rubbing, pressing, gently kneading, and resting the hand over vital centers in the body.  Benefits of daily self massage includes improvements in circulation, relief from congestion, heal sore muscles and stimulate Qi flow more deeply in the tissues to reduce aches and pains.  This form can be done sitting or standing.

This class can be done without any prior instruction.  Once you learn the form, we highly recommend practicing this routine for a minimum of 30-minutes daily for at least 30 days in a row to reflect on changes you experience and to create new, healthy habits.

Qigong - One Thousand Hands Buddha

This form is practiced seated using simple, but elegant hand movements called mudras.  We know our hearts are affected by our emotions and stress - emotional extremes increase instability and open a way to disease.  This practice helps us to rediscover our innate and noble heart, eliminate fear and suffering, develop true happiness, and cultivate our healing capacity.

This form requires prior instruction to learn the mudras.  Once you have started taking the new student training, we would love to have you join us to continue to practice in a fostering community.  Or drop-in to review and revitalize your practice of the form to improve your healing capacity.

Once you learn the form we recommend practicing this routine  for a minimum of 30-minutes daily for at least 30 days in a row to reflect on changes you experience and to create new, healthy habits.

New Student Introduction                                                         $150

This course will teach you the Liu family lineage of mastering your heart and is taught by a certified teacher.  During this course you will learn about the seven emotions, the five toxins of the heart, the meaning and purpose of the mudras and the form itself.  The 14 mudras will be taught in 90-minute blocks over six weeks or in 6-hour block on one day.  See schedule for current offerings.
